1. The Women’s
Leadership Network standing rules and budget will be approved yearly
by the board by the September monthly meeting. Any changes to
the standing rules necessary for the benefit of the WLN members may
be made by majority vote of the Executive Board of Directors. They will be posted on the website for members to view.
2. The
Executive Board of Directors may approve all bills and approved
budget items without the approval of the membership. Requests for
expense reimbursement must be made within sixty (60) days from the
date of the expense.
3. Members
making meeting reservations and not attending will be billed for the
cost of the meal.
4. All Women’s
Leadership Network Executive Board of Directors must be primary
status.
5. Women’s
Leadership Network has the following officers with duties as stated
below:
President shall
preside at all meetings of the Express Network and the executive
board. She run Executive Board meetings and empower
Executive Board members to make decisions to the highest and best
good for the whole of the Women’s Leadership Network.
President Elect
shall be in charge of the application and selection process of the WLN ambassadors and the dinner invitations, RSVP’s and registration.
Shall give head count to restaurant for dinner meetings. Shall sit
the registration desk in charge of welcoming the members and guest
and disbursing the name tags. Shall introduce the Ambassadors at the
monthly meeting as they are approved.
VP of Finance
shall be responsible for all monies collected, for depositing
monies, disbursing money as approved and for collecting local
Express Network dues. Shall present a monthly financial report to
the Executive Board. Shall present all financial documents to an
auditing committee in the month of July.
VP of
Administration shall record the minutes of each express network and
Executive Board Meeting. Shall provide one copy of the minutes to
the president and send a monthly meeting report to national
headquarters. Shall send promotional information to all appropriate
media covering the WLN and member achievements as well as meeting
announcements. Shall commission the drawing prizes from local
businesses and run the drawing at the meetings. Shall create and run
surveys at monthly meetings.
VP Programs
shall be responsible for the planning, selection and scheduling of
education programs/speakers for meetings and other special events as
requested. Shall be responsible for presenting the meeting/event
locations, menus, etc. to the Executive Board for approval. Shall
welcome and introduce the speaker at the monthly dinner meetings.
VP Membership
Shall encourage membership growth and retention. Shall assist guests
and prospective members with membership information and the
membership application process. Shall maintain a current, accurate
roster of all members and report any changes in member information
to all members of the Executive Board. Shall contact prospective
members, guests and absent members on a monthly basis. Shall
introduce new members at monthly meetings.
VP Recognition
Shall create awards and present nominees for the voting committee
for the Woman of the Year award from outside sources. Shall present
the Friendship awards at monthly meetings. Shall present awards at
awards ceremony. Shall enlist corporate sponsors for the benefit of
the WLN. Shall run elections for incoming board. Shall create
and keep an up to date birthday list.
VP Marketing
Shall create and keep updated monthly newsletter. Shall send out
monthly newsletter to WLN membership. Shall update and create new
web pages as needed. Shall keep an updated record on the website for
a ‘member successes’ web page. Shall ask for member’s successes at
monthly meetings.
6. Guests may
attend up to but not to exceed 2 meetings and/or events to ‘test
out’ the Women’s Leadership Network prior to joining the WLN.
7. The Women’s
Leadership Network Executive Board of Directors may consider any
other rules governing the network, which do not conflict with ABWA
National, Express Network Bylaws or repeat any information.
8. WLN
ambassadors must always represent the Women’s Leadership Network
board and members with the utmost professionalism and respect. Their
status as a WLN ambassador can be withdrawn at any time by majority
vote of the executive board. All Ambassadors must be in
primary status.
